EUSPACE - European Union in Space: Law and Technology
University of Genoa, Via Balbi 5, GENOA
19-23 July 2021
The EUSPACE Summer School is a multi-disciplinary project financed by the European Union, Erasmus Plus Jean Monnet Programme, within the Jean Monnet Chair Space4U, 2019-2022. It aims at giving an analysis of the current main legal and technical issues related to the intervention of the European Union in space. This year the main topic will be “Outer space activities as a glue between past and future: new actors, new frontiers and multidisciplinary approaches”.
Given the current situation induced by the COVID-19 Pandemia we decided to hold the event vir-tually, organizing an online live streaming course with 2 sessions per day (morning and afternoon), 19-23 July 2021.
The initiative aims to attract researchers and young professionals in law, political science and en-gineering, as well as doctoral and post doctoral students dealing with the space sector. Precisely the participation is opened to students who have attended at least a three years’ study university course in the above-mentioned topics.
Students who will attend at least 80% of the lessons will be provided with an attendance certifi-cate by the organisation. University of Genoa recognises 6 extra-curricular CFU for the participation of its law students. Moreover, within the programme a Workshop involving the active participation of students is forecast in order to stimulate their knowledge of the topic.
The speakers will be academics from the University of Genoa and other universities as well as op-erators in the field of space industries and institutions. Particularly relevant is the participation of representatives of the European Space Agency and national Space Agencies.
The participation to the summer school does not request the payment of a fee, therefore the partic-ipation is totally free of charge.
Registration to the summer school is however needed, by proper registration on the website www.eu-space.eu, before June 30th 2021.
